Meet our rising star, Mran Cia Bouk!
Born on June 7, 2005. A Kachin ethnic. Her father died after a collapse at one of the coal mines in Kachin State. Afterwards, their family moved to the Shan/Kachin border. Soon after, a civil war took place in their village and everyone had to run into the forest in order to save their lives. Her mom couldn’t risk her kids' lives to be ending on the run forever. So in 2018, she sent her and her younger brother (slide 3) to LCH to have a good education and have a better life and future. Now she is in grade 9, home schooling. She picks things up quickly and is really good at School, Sports, and Computer.
When she arrived at the orphanage, she wanted to become a Kachin commander because she grew up in the midst of war. But now, she wants to become a Doctor and one day go back to her village and save lives. We are here to support her dreams in any way we can.
